How monitoring is organized in Anturis
This is short introduction into main concepts of Anturis monitoring system. Clicking on a particular term you will get to the detailed description of it.
Components and Monitors
Anturis system models customer's IT infrastructure in the following way:
- All the systems, devices and applications are represented with Components. Example Components are: a website, a server, a router, a MySQL database.
- Each Component contains several Monitors that define its Status: OK, WARNING or ERROR.
- Monitor can be one of various types depending on the nature of the measured/checked resource. Examples: CPU load, website response time, disk free space.
- All the Components constitute the Infrastructure. Some Components can be linked with impact dependencies, e.g. software Component running on a server Component.
Actual monitoring is performed by Anturis Agents that collect the data and send it to the Anturis back-end for analysis and storage.
There are Public Agents located in different places in the Internet and available for all Anturis customers and Private Agents installed into a single customer's infrastructure to measure solely this customer's local resources.
